How Choosing the Nefertari Font Gave My Small Business a Fresh, Polished Look

When I decided to refresh my little candle-making business, I didn’t expect that a simple font change would make such a big difference. I was updating my label designs and packaging, trying to give everything a more cohesive and professional feel. I wanted something that felt warm, personal, and just a little whimsical—like the experience of lighting one of my candles after a long day. That’s when I found Nefertari.

Nefertari is a cute handwritten font that brings a sense of playfulness and authenticity to any design. It’s not overly formal or stiff like some script fonts can be. Instead, it feels like a friendly note from a friend—genuine, approachable, and full of personality. As a small business owner, I knew that kind of warmth would help my brand feel more relatable to customers.

From Labels to Logos: A Font That Works Hard for Your Brand

I started by using Nefertari on my candle jar labels. The soft curves and natural flow of the letters gave the packaging a handmade, boutique-style look that matched the quality of the product inside. It stood out on the shelf without shouting, and customers began to notice the attention to detail.

Next, I updated my logo. I paired Nefertari with a clean sans serif font for the secondary text, which balanced the handwritten look with a modern edge. Suddenly, my branding looked more intentional and consistent across my website, social media, and product packaging.

Why Typography Matters for Small Businesses

Typography might sound like a design jargon term, but it plays a huge role in how customers perceive your brand. The right font can make your business feel trustworthy, creative, or elegant—sometimes all at once. When I used a generic font before, my brand felt scattered. With Nefertari, everything started to feel connected.

It’s especially effective for short-form text like product names, taglines, or event titles. I used it on thank-you cards, social media graphics, and even printed menus for a pop-up shop I did at a local market. Each piece looked like it belonged to the same brand story.

Designing for Readability and Impact

One thing I learned quickly is that Nefertari works best when used thoughtfully. Because it’s a handwritten script font, it’s ideal for headlines, logos, and display text rather than long paragraphs. For example, I used it for the product name on my candle labels but switched to a simple sans serif for the scent description and ingredients to keep things easy to read.

This became even more important when designing for mobile. I made sure that text using Nefertari was large enough to read clearly on a phone screen, especially on social media banners and Instagram stories. When used correctly, it added a personal touch without sacrificing clarity.

Pairing Nefertari with Other Fonts

Font pairing used to feel intimidating, but with Nefertari, it’s surprisingly easy. I found that pairing it with a clean sans serif like Montserrat or Open Sans created a nice contrast while keeping the overall design modern. For more elegant packaging or event-themed designs, I sometimes used a light serif font like Playfair Display.

The key was balance. Nefertari brings personality, and the supporting font brings structure. Together, they helped me build a brand identity that felt both expressive and professional.

Using Nefertari Across Different Business Materials

From packaging to digital ads, I’ve used Nefertari in a variety of ways:

Each time, the font helped reinforce my brand’s visual identity and made my materials feel more connected. Customers started to recognize my designs, even before seeing my logo.

What to Know Before You Use Nefertari

Before you download and start using Nefertari for your own business, make sure to check the font’s included styles, file formats, and licensing. Since I use it for packaging, digital marketing, and client templates, I made sure to get a commercial font license that allowed for those uses.

Luckily, Nefertari came with multiple weights and alternate characters, which gave me flexibility in design. Some fonts look great on screen but lose clarity when printed, so I always test them on mockups before finalizing any product design.

Small Change, Big Impact

Switching to Nefertari wasn’t a dramatic overhaul of my brand, but it was a meaningful one. It helped me communicate the warmth and care I put into every product—just through the way my words looked. Whether you’re a bakery owner printing cupcake tags, a skincare brand updating your packaging, or a café designing a new menu, the right font can bring your brand to life in a whole new way.

If you’re looking for a script font that feels genuine, playful, and polished, Nefertari might just be the quiet upgrade your brand needs.
